About Us
Wilson's Funeral Home is dedicated to providing services to the families of Southern Illinois with care and compassion.
In 1946, Bernard Harrison Wilson started the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava. In October of 1947, Bernard married Norma Lee Giffin. Together, they strived to serve the families in the surrounding area for many years. In 1964, they started Wilson's Funeral Home in Campbell Hill. In 1977, together with their son, William Lee Wilson, they started the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. In March of 1992, they started the Wilson's Funeral Home in Sparta, Tilden, Willisville, and Coulterville. Only days later, Bernard passed away. Following him in July of 1993, Norma passed away. Today, William (along with Carlos J. Barbour, his son, Aaron L. Wilson, and his daughter, Amy L. Wilson), operates the Wilson's Funeral Home, consisting of facilities in Ava, Steeleville, and Percy.
