CUTLER – Robert O. Langwith, 78, of Cutler, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at SIH Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.

Robert was born April 28, 1947, in Sparta, IL to Robert J. and Isabel A. (Davis) Langwith. Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He had retired from Knight Hawk Coal, LLC, as a coal miner. Robert was a member of First Baptist Church, Cutler, IL.

Robert is survived by his children: Sherry (Scott) Scholebo of Pinckneyville, IL, Robert L. Cynthia) Langwith of Willisville, IL, Brian Langwith of Campbell Hill, IL, Linda (Joe) Cerny of Dongola, IL; his grandchildren: Chase (Katie) Scholebo, Colyn Scholebo, Renee Langwith (Justin Rice), Robert J. Langwith (Brittani Johnson), Brittany Langwith, Leeann Langwith, Derek Langwith, Michael Powell, Dustin Powell, Steven Powell, Stephanie Hugya, Jennifer Hugya; his great grandchildren, Allen Otis Scholebo plus twenty-nine more, and his sister, Shirley Smith of Cutler, IL.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Mason.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mike Higgerson officiating. Burial to follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026, where friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, and then on Wednesday morning from 7:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
