MURPHYSBORO – Melinda S. "Moe" Moll, 56, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9:17 pm, Monday, March 13, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Melinda was born in Red Bud, Illinois, on May 13, 1966, to Robert and Janis Kempfer Moll. Melinda was a veteran of the US Army and served for 8 years and was a member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post #127 in Murphysboro. She worked at Riverside Park for years.

Melinda is survived by her son, Chad Moll of Murphysboro; three grandchildren, Kolbi Lynn Moll, Noami Marie Moll, and Cameron Michael Moll; her mother, Janis Kirchner of Davenport, FL; two sisters, Terri Patterson of Wentzville, MO and Gina Talbert of St. Peters, MO; one brother, Robert Moll of Davenport, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Melinda was preceded in death by her Father; Maternal Grandparents; Cousin, Karen Kempfer Bryant; and Dear Friend, Punch.

Memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, with Pastor Darrell Kempfer officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Paul Stout American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro. Burial will follow. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
