AVA - Zumma Wilson, 93, of Ava, passed away at 8:08 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at the Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro. Zumma was born in Kinkaid Township, IL on July 8, 1920, the daughter of George and Maude McBride Barringer. She married Glenn G. Wilson on December 2, 1943 at Fort Custer, Michigan. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1953. Zumma was a farmer and was retired from World Color Press in Sparta, IL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava. Zumma is survived by her children, Tom (Becky) Wilson of Ava, Judy (Michael) Rendelman of Caseyville, IL and John (Monica) Wilson of Ava; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Zumma was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, David; one infant son, Jackie; four brothers; and three sisters. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Gilbert Gee officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 2 pm. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Ava.
