STEELEVILLE - W.W. "Bill" Schulte, 90, of Steeleville, passed away at 10:50 pm, Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Red Bud Nursing Home in Red Bud, IL. Mr. Schulte was born in Blair, IL on May 3, 1923, the son of August and Emma Gosejohann Schulte. He married Ruth Athmer on January 27, 1964 in Springfield, IL. He was the retired owner and operator of the Chester Quarry. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville and the Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester, IL. Mr. Schulte is survived by his wife, Ruth Schulte of Steeleville; son, Larry (Laura) Schulte of Sparta; two step children, Judy (Dennis) Ward of Columbia, IL and Bob (Joyce) Eggemeyer of Murphysboro, IL; grandchildren, Megan and Samantha Schulte and Cherri, Steven and Billy Ward; and one sister, Ethlyn Schnuck of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his Parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am to 10 am at the church. Memorials may be given to the Randolph County Humane Society or the Memorial Fund at the Peace Lutheran Church.
