WILLISVILLE, Rev. William Paul Spiller, 91, of Willisville, passed away at 2:10 AM Friday, November 30, 2012, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, Illinois. He was born January 4, 1921 in Elkville, Illinois the son of William Andrew and Canary (Croessin) Spiller. Paul married Mary E. Vancil in Elkville, IL in 1940. She passed away on February 13, 1952. Paul married Eula Imogene Hogg in Piggott, Arkansas on June 1, 1953. She passed away February 13, 2001. He is survived by his: 4 sons: William Paul "Tom" (Mary) Spiller, Jr., Willisville, IL, Donnie Joe Spiller of Ohio, Edward (Valerie) Spiller, Steeleville, IL and Brad (Betsy) Spiller, Campbell Hill, IL; 4 daughters: Paula (Jerry) Duvardo, Puxico, IL, Judy (Jim) Williamson, Ava, IL, Dawna (Mick) Adkins, Farmersburg, IN, Kelli (Travis) Glenn, Percy, IL; Also: 23 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Grandson, 2 daughter in laws and 2 sisters. Paul was a retired coal miner and minister. Paul served in the U.S. Navy, on the USS Brontel during the WWII. He was a graduate of Western Illinois University. He was a member of the New Hope Independent Baptist Church in Willisville, IL where he was the former Pastor. Paul was also a member of the UMW of A Local 1392 and the Okaw Valley Beagle Club. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM at New Hope Independent Baptist Church Willisville, Illinois. Rev. William P. "Tom" Spiller, Jr. and Rev. Edward Spiller officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Gardens, Willisville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville on Sunday where friends may call from 4 to 8PM and on Monday from 8 to 10AM at the church. The preferred form of remembrance is a contribution to the Ava Food Pantry.
