CHESTER – William Patrick Ranta, 32, of Chester, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019, in Chester.

William Patrick Ranta was born in Tucson, AZ, on March 4, 1987, the son of Kristian and Lisa Jo Reiman Ranta. Patrick was doing something he loved as a Support Tech/Administrator at Ark: Survival Evolved.

Patrick was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill; SIHFL; SIHBL; The Phi Kappa Chapter of Alpha Chi Rho; and ELCA Leadership Lab and Youth Gathering.

Patrick loved spending time with his nephew, Calvin, going to the family lake house in Wisconsin, his dogs Illi and Sable and being with his family. He was an avid sports lover.

Patrick is survived by his mother, Lisa Jo Reiman of Chester; sister, Rachel (Levi) Marshall of Chester; nephew and best buddy, Calvin; aunts and uncles, Pam Ranta Grubman, Bill (Bonnie) Ranta, Cindy (Rick) Svanda, Stacy Reiman, Scott (Sandy) Reiman; Godparents, Linda (Dennis) Aho and Kevin DelMastro; cousins, Jaime (Casey) Lodge, Nathan Svanda, John Reiman, Kellie Reiman Flores, Lindsay (Andrew) Oetjen, Shannon (Chris) Santangelo, Jacob Lodge, Wilson Lodge, Kyler Reiman, Kara Flores, Reed Flores, Tyne Oetjen, Lyla Oetjen, Jackson Santangelo, Nyla Santangelo, Chelsea Thibodeau and Matthew Thibodeau.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Kristian Ranta; grandparents, Arnold and Dolores Ranta, Pete and Patricia Reiman; cousin, Emily Reiman; and uncle, Donald Grubman.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, December 21, 2019, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 12:30 pm until 2:30 pm. Memorials may be given to Family Choice for Vanderbilt University for Kidney Foundation/Research.
