AVA, William W. "Bud" Popejoy, 70, of Ava, passed away at 12:42 P.M. Friday, April 22, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. William was born September 08, 1940 in Ava, Illinois the son of William S. Popejoy and Ada Jane(Smith) Popejoy. Bud married Sandra Arline Miller on September 21, 1962 in Murphysboro, IL, she preceded him in death on March 12, 2010. He was a retired Construction laborer and farmer. Bud was a member of Crain Baptist Church in Ava and the Laborer Local. Bud is survived by one son, Greg (Vicki) Popejoy of Ava; one daughter, Kim (Robert) Kranawetter of Ava; grandchildren, William and Wyatt Popejoy, Jessica McCormick, and Madison, Marissa and Macy Kranawetter; one brother, Jim R. Popejoy of Ava; and six sisters, Mary Jane Guy of Ava, Vera Cross of Ava, Betty Klein of Chester, IL, Wilma Cross of Ava, Barbara Sue Young of Edwardsville, IL, and Donna Searcy of Versailles, MO. He was also preceded in death by his Parents and One Sister. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Gilbert Gee officiating. Burial will follow at Bower Cemetery, Ava. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Monday from 6 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
