STEELEVILLE – William D. Lodge, 80, of Steeleville, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, Illinois.

William was born in Puxico, IL, on July 2, 1942, the son of William and Dorothy Popham Lodge.  He married Patricia A. Yankey on May 13, 1975, in Chester, IL. She preceded him in death on October 22, 2017. William was a retired coal miner and worked in the family plastering business. He also owned and operated the Community Lakes Campground, Percy, for several years. William enjoyed gardening, golfing, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Steeleville Eagles #3960, United Mine Workers of America, and was of the Baptist faith.

William is survived by his children: Steve Lodge of St. Louis, MO, Amy (Brad) Steppig of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren: Brendan, William, Michael, Rachel, Jonathan, Thomas, Andrew; great grandson, Louis, and his sister, Kay Degenhardt of Puxico, IL.

William is also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Mr. Lodge's wishes were for cremation and a Celebration of Life and Interment will be at a later date.
