Obituary
TILDEN – William "Bill" J. McMahon, 71, of Tilden passed away at 2:45 AM, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home in Tilden.
William was born on December 10, 1945, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of William J. and Melba (Chapple) McMahon. William served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bill was retired from the Operating Engineers. Bill married Gloria Donna Blackwell, on May 27, 2006, in Tilden. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Tilden, the Operating Engineers Local 513, the VFW Post #6865, Coulterville, and the Tilden Lions Club.
Bill is survived by his wife, Gloria "Donna" McMahon of Tilden; son, Bill (Mari) O'Laughlin McMahon of Arnold, MO; step son, Ronald (Penny) Voges of Coulterville; step daughter, Tammy Voges of Sparta; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Pat Tubbs of Tilden; brother, Jim McMahon of Marissa.
Bill was preceded in death by his Parents.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Tilden, with Rev. Paul Hahn officiating. Burial will follow at Tilden Cemetery, Tilden with military graveside rites by Coulterville VFW Post #6865. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church from 11 am until hour of service. Memorials may be given to VFW Post #6865 in Coulterville or Wounded Warrior Project. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
