CAMPBELL HILL, William A. "Bill" Fuhrhop, 87, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 10:38 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, Illinois. He was born November 27, 1927 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of William H. and Edna M. (Tope) Fuhrhop. Bill married Mae Dean Caby on June 30, 1950 at Cutler, IL. Bill was a retired Correctional Officer from Menard Penitentiary in Chester, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bill was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Point, IL and a member of Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096. Bill is survived by his wife, Mae Dean Fuhrhop of Campbell Hill, IL; Children: Lane & Karen Fuhrhop of Ava, IL, Larry & Sandy Fuhrhop of Elkville, IL, Clay & Pam Fuhrhop of Ava, IL and Joyce Brown of St. Louis, MO; 12 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers: Charles E. (Tod) and Norma Fuhrhop of Campbell Hill, IL, Carl D. and Mary Fuhrhop of Belleville, IL and 1 brother-in-law: Kay and Agnes Caby of Ava, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Janet, one granddaughter, Allison and 1 great granddaughter, Danica Fuhrhop. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Point, Illinois with Rev. William F. Engfehr III officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Thursday, where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then on Friday from 9 to 10AM at the church. Memorials may be made to Worship for Shut Ins or Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Point.
