PERCY – William "Bill" Chandler, 71, of Percy, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester, IL.
Bill was born January 6, 1951, in Sparta, IL, to Robert S. and Ellouise Farris Chandler. He married Rebecca L. Sumner on July 5, 1986, at New Hope Church, Willisville, IL. Bill was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired coal miner from Baldwin Underground/Peabody Coal, and a member of River of Life Church, Percy, IL. Bill loved fishing, playing the guitar, and singing at church.
Bill is survived by his wife, Rebecca Chandler of Percy, IL, children: Jennifer and Rodney Barker of Steeleville, IL, Isaac and Megen Chandler of Perryville, MO; grandchildren, Shelby and Russell Barker, siblings; Betty Owens of Tamaroa, IL, Robert S. Chandler, Jr. of Jacksonville, IL, Judy and Ed Bradham of Friendsville, IL, Robin and Tom Pour of Lebanon, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Kenneth Pierce officiating. Burial to follow at New Hope Gardens Cemetery, Willisville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 11 - 1 pm.
