October 23, 1925 – January 15, 2026
William (Bill) Clayton Robb of Swanwick, IL, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2026, at the age of 100, after a short stay in the Randolph County Care Center.
Bill was born on October 23, 1925, to the late George and Aseneth Robb, at their home in Lost Prairie in Perry County, IL. He was the youngest of four boys. Bill graduated from Pinckneyville Community High School in Pinckneyville, IL. Bill married Rose Lucille Ella Casetta on April 22, 1946, in Marks, MS. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2014. Bill and Rose spent their lives in Swanwick and enjoyed a successful career in farming. Bill worked for a time as a state meat inspector. He served as director of the IL Production Credit Association and on the Swanwick Grade School Board.
Bill earned his pilot's license, and he and Rose enjoyed flying around the country seeing the sights and attending the sporting events of their grandchildren. One of his greatest joys in life was flying airplanes. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and enjoyed flying an RV-4. Bill and Rose were lifelong members of the Swanwick Community Church where Bill faithfully served for many years.
Bill is survived by his son, William G. of Swanwick, IL and his daughter, Susan McIntyre of Yale, OK, four grandchildren: Marcy (Jason) Edwards of New Berlin, IL, Shon (Rebecca) McIntyre of Farmington, MN, Travis (Ricky) McIntyre of Yale, OK and Joshua McIntyre of Yale OK, and seven great-grandchildren: Hunter, Parker, Hadly, Pacey, Levi, Sophia, and Harper.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Rose, son, Donald (Sue), and brothers, Matthew, Dale, and Donald.
Visitation service will be held at the Swanwick Community Church on 1/31/2026 from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm, with Reverend Shon McIntyre and Reverend Tim McIntyre officiating. Burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. There will be a time of food and fellowship following the service. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Swanwick Community Church and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
