SPARTA – William Paul Bourner, 68, of Collinsville, formerly of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, while attending the PGA Golf Tournament at Bellerive Golf Course in St. Louis, Missouri.

William was born in Sparta, on September 3, 1949, the son of Robert Earl and Oleta F. Carlyle Bourner.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was a Photolithographer.  William was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sparta.

William is survived by three children, Jeffrey Paul (Amanda Marie) Bourner of Jackson, MO, Leslie (Eric) Owen of Collinsville, and Rebecca (Robert) Dedert of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Madelyn Marie, Kassidy Joann, Lucas Keeton, Nathan William, Addison Ellen, and Drake Alexander; one brother, Robert Earl Bourner, Jr. of Macdoel, CA; and one sister, Jane Anne Bourner of Sparta.

William was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sparta with Rev. Robert A. Miner officiating.  Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta.  Visitation will be on Monday from 6 to 8 pm at the church and on Tuesday from 9 am until 10 am.  Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with services.  Memorials may be given to Songs4Soldiers, PO Box 1165, Columbia, IL 62236.
