STEELEVILLE, Willard William Wiechert, 80, of Steeleville, passed away at 9:35 P.M. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Fairview Nursing Center in DuQuoin, IL. Willard was born May 24, 1931 in Washington County, Illinois the son of William Wiechert and Lora (Luessenheide) Wiechert. Willard married Imogene Lehde on June 2, 1956 in Addieville, IL. Willard was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict where he served in Soule, Korea. He was retired from Egyptian Telephone. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville; the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville and he served on the Legion Baseball committee for many years. Willard is survived by his wife Imogene Wiechert of Steeleville; two children, Steven (Kathy) Wiechert of Beaumont, TX and Janet (Mitch) Wolfe of Dowell, IL; three grandchildren, Preston Wolfe (Fiancee, Carrie Fisher), Karissa (Grant) Gerrard and Alicia Wiechert; one great granddaughter, Gianna Gerrard; one brother, Kenneth Wiechert of Houston, TX; and one sister, Beatrice Bergmann of Venedy, IL. Willard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Saturday from 9 to 11 am.
