STEELEVILLE, Willard H. Biermann, 88, of Steeleville, passed away at 5:10 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, Illinois. He was born July 30, 1927 in Steeleville, Illinois the son of Henry J. and Lydia (Vogt) Biermann.

Willard married Betty R. Stoffel on November 6, 1948 at Cutler, IL. She passed away on May 7, 2008.

Willard was retired from Ziegler Coal Company.  He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL and a former member and Fire Chief of the Steeleville Fire Department.

He is survived by his children: Willard D. (Karen) Biermann, Steeleville, IL, Vicki (Loren) Hodge, Cobden, IL and Dr. Robin (Jill) Biermann, Nashville, IL; 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Willard is also survived by 2 sisters:  Evelyn Vogel, Ava, IL and Lucille (Harold) VanHoy, Red Bud, IL.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 sister, Margaret Meyerhoff and 5 brothers, Lawrence, Orville, Edgar, Robert and Ralph Biermann.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Steeleville, Illinois with Rev. Kelly C. Bedard officiating.  Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL.   Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 7:30am to 11am and then Noon to 1pm at the church.  Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
