SPARTA – Willard R. Bockhorn, 90, of Sparta, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Willard was born in Blair, Illinois, on January 20, 1932, the son of Ernest and Martha Hogrefe Bockhorn.  He married Lavern Brockmeyer on April 28, 1956, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wine Hill, Illinois.  Willard served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict.  He was Farmer, Auctioneer and Founder of Bockhorn Ag and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville, and National Auctioneer Association.

Willard is survived by his wife, Lavern Bockhorn of Sparta; children, Alan Bockhorn (Sherry Lindner), Karen Bockhorn, Linda (Bob) Marcinkowska, Donna (Rick) Woods, Michael Bockhorn (Benjamin Custer), and Joanne (Ronnie) Edwards; 10 grandchildren, Korey (Melissa) Bockhorn, Ryan (Leslie) Bockhorn, Justin Bockhorn (Kendi Becker), Ashley Bockhorn (Chad Mahnken), Ross (Emily) Marcinkowska, Tyler (Abby) Woods, Brittany (Jordan) Beckley, Brooke (Jake) Hargis, Kaitlin (Alex) Behnken, and Olivia Edwards; and 11 great grandchildren, Morgan & Kyle Bockhorn, Logan & Rylan Bockhorn, Cameryn Bockhorn, Emma & Lane Woods, Kennedy & Jase Beckley, Harper Hargis, and Blake Behnken.

Willard was preceded in death by his Parents; five brothers, Marvin, Wayne, Earl, Orville, and Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Stacey Bockhorn; and granddaughter, Megan Marcinkowska.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Rev. Matt Helfrich officiating.  Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville.  Visitation will be at Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, on Tuesday from 6 pm until 8 pm, and on Wednesday from 8 am until the hour of service.  Memorials may be given to Warren G.
