AVA – Wilford E. Cheatham, 77, of Ava, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at his home.

Wilford was born in Ava, Illinois, on August 4, 1946, the son of Ezra and Helen Harrouff Cheatham. Wilford was a Veteran of the Illinois National Guard, during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Operators Local #318, Electricals Local #702, and UMW of A Local #1392.

Wilford is survived by his children, Marlo (Allen) Hoyt of Ava and Butch (Kimberly) Cheatham of Ava; grandchildren, Brandon (Ayrielle) Hoyt, Zach (Lily) Hoyt, McKenzie (fiancée: Matt Hemenway) Cheatham, Logan Cheatham, Brock Cheatham, and Marco Salvetti; two great grandchildren, Peter Hoyt and Gwen Hoyt; and sister, Barbara Qualls of Joliet, IL.

Wilford was preceded in death by his Parents and One Sister, Doris Jean Qualls.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Bob Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call on Monday from 9 am until 11 am.
