Obituary
PERCY, Wayne S. Lodge, 79, of Percy, passed away at 9:45pm, Friday, July 7, 2017, at his home in Percy, Illinois. He was born December 14, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois the son of William S. and Margaret (Morris) Lodge. Wayne married Sherry A. Higgerson on April 5, 1971 in Perryville, Missouri.
Wayne was retired from Peabody Coal Company, Baldwin #1 Mine and was also a retired plasterer. He was also retired from the Percy Volunteer Fire Department. Wayne served in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy. Wayne also enjoyed camping.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry A. Lodge, Percy, IL; Sons, Mark (Cindy) Prange, Percy, IL, Kevin (Sandy) Prange, Steeleville, IL, Bruce (Brandee) Prange, Pensicola, FL and Chris Lodge, Percy, IL; 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren with another one due in a month. Wayne is also survived by a Brother, William D. Lodge, Steeleville, IL and a Sister, Georgia Kay Degenhardt, Puxico, IL.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents and 2 Brothers, Archie and Lyle Wydeck.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy, IL with Rev. David Melvin officiating. Burial will follow at Percy Village Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Percy, on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 7:30 to 11:30am and then from 12:30 to 1:30 at the church.
