Obituary

CAMPBELL HILL - Wallace (Wally) HH Hadler, 79, of Campbell Hill, died May 30, 2018, at his residence in Campbell Hill, Illinois.

He was born December 23, 1938, at Seventy-Six, Missouri (at home), son of the late Arthur J. and Wilma E. (Verseman) Hadler. He was married on May 9, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri to Evelyn (Detjen) Hadler. She survives in Campbell Hill, Illinois. Wally was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard as a Staff Sergeant in 1967. He retired from Spartan Light Metals Products as a machinist and supervisor after 35 years. He was also an avid farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at West Point. He served as elder, usher, and participated on many other church and school boards. He was also a member of the Steeleville American Legion.

He enjoyed a blessed marriage for 56 years with his beloved wife, Evie. He enjoyed spending every opportunity with his grandchildren whether it was attending a variety of sporting events or just fishing on the farm. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include two daughters and one son: Sherry A. (Terry) Hadler of Perryville, Missouri, Gary L. (Elizabeth) Hadler of Medina, Ohio, Wendy S. (Barry) Sommer of Collinsville, Illinois; one brother and three sisters: Curtis Hadler of Perryville, Missouri, Joyce (Robert) Hemmann of St. Louis, Missouri, Donna (James) Stabile of St. Louis, Missouri, Goldie (Ronald) Bock of Naperville, Illinois; eleven grandchildren: Abby Hadler, Andy Hadler, Danielle (Jacob) Chambers, Nicole Hadler, Joshua Hadler, Isaac Hadler, Emily Hadler, Elijah Hadler, Brendan Sommer, Sydney Sommer, and Meghan Sommer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Delvin Kaempfe, two sisters-in-law, Lois Fritsche, Charlotte Hadler, and one grandson, Braden Sommer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (West Point) 1699 West Point Road, Campbell Hill, Illinois, with Rev. Sean R. Smith officiating, burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, with an American Legion Service at 8 PM at the funeral home, and then on Monday from 9 to 10 AM, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the Orphan Grain Train.
