STEELEVILLE – Vivian McCrary, 89, of Steeleville, passed away at 11:35 am, Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Illinois.

Vivian was born in Ava, Illinois, on June 12, 1932, the daughter of Ralph and Nora Kenner Melville.  She married Valley V. McCrary on August 15, 1948, in Willisville.  He preceded her in death on March 19, 2009.  Vivian was a Homemaker.  She was a member of the Steeleville Baptist Church.  Vivian loved baking and was well known for her Angel food cakes.  She also loved gardening and her flower gardens.

Vivian is survived by children, Valley V. (Kathy) McCrary, Jr. of Sparta, IL, Rose Marie Bailey (Alan) o f Cobden, IL, Marleen Robinson (Billy) of Lebanon, OR, and Brenda Sue (Brian) Ruebke of Percy; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Roger) Rieckenberg of Willisville, and Karen (Steve) Ramsey of Port St. Lucie, FL; and brother-in-law, Tom (Eddie) McCrary of Percy.

Vivian was also preceded in death by her Parents; one son, Kevin Lee McCrary; a grandmother that raised her, Lavina Melville; step mother, Julia Snider Melville; sisters, JoAnn Lindsey, Marie Tanner, June Howard, and Neola Blair; brother, Charles Melville; step brother, Henry Heine; half-brother, Cleatus Kenner; and grandson, Danny Hale.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 11:30 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Matt Collins officiating.  Burial will follow at Percy Village Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 am until 11:30 am Thursday.  Memorials may be given to the Family or Steeleville Baptist Church.  To sign the guestbook visit www.wilsonsfuneralhome.net .  COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, and masks will be required.
