MURPHYSBORO – Vivian A. Borgsmiller, 83, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12:47 AM, Thursday, September 21, 2017, the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Vivian was born on February 11, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Albert C. and Alice Amelia (Schierbaum) Burkhardt. She was a retired salesperson. Vivian married Robert James Borgsmiller on May 7, 1987, at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill. She was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill.
She is survived by her husband; Robert J. Borgsmiller, of Murphysboro, 4 children; Tina (Albert) Rabe, of Ava, Terry (Rosemary) Reuscher, of Round Rock, Texas, Tony (Dawn) Reusher, of Evansville, Indiana, and Ted (Sharon) Reuscher, of Ava, 2 step children; Christopher J. (Angie) Borgsmiller, of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Robert F. Borgsmiller, of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, and 1 sister; Audrey Burkhardt, of Sparta. She is also survived by a niece, A. J. Burkhardt and families and a nephew, Adam Steele and families.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill, with Rev. Karen McNeill – Utecht, officiating, and burial will follow at the Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Sunday from 7:30 to 11 AM and then from 12 Noon to 1 PM, at the church. Memorials may be made to the St. Luke's Building Fund or the Siteman Cancer Center, at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
