Obituary
AVA, Virginia Lee Kuhnert, 93, of Ava, passed away at 5:45 AM Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Manor Court in Carbondale, Illinois. She was born July 18, 1923 in Pinckneyville, Illinois the daughter of Alva E and Bertie (Keene) Hill. She married Carl Andrew Kuhnert on January 15, 1944 in Carbondale, Illinois. He passed away on January 27, 1992.
Virginia was a Homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava, Illinois.
She is survived by her sons: Terry (Pat) Kuhnert and Bill (Karla) Kuhnert, both of Ava, Illinois; Grandchildren, Scott (Callie) Kuhnert, Robin (Kyle) Lewis, Melodee Kuhnert McGriff, Bruce (Joleen) Kuhnert and Sarah (Matt) Bernaix; 2 step Grandsons, Shannon Downen and Chris (Angie) Downen and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, 2 sisters, 1 brother and a Great Granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Ava Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. William Stoklosa officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's or Ava Evergreen Cemetery.Virginia Lee Kuhnert's Guestbook
