PERCY, Virginia M. Hicks, 59, of Percy, passed away at 2:25 A.M. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, IL. She was born October 11, 1951 in Fairfield, Illinois the daughter of Frank Mitchell and Barbara (Means) Mitchell. Virginia married Michael F. Hicks on September 17, 1989 in Percy, IL. She is survived by her husband Michael Hicks of Percy, IL; Children: Jimmy and Cheryl Hunt of Eufaula, OK, Luereta and William Gilbert of Wahiawa, HI, Patricia and Michael Morrison of Pinckneyville, IL and Sara and Michael Petrowske of Steeleville, IL; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother: Rick and Gerry Mitchell of Mt. Vernon, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Scott, one grandson and one sister. Virginia was a homemaker in her home and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 1:30 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Pastor Charles Ellis will be officiating. Burial will be at Steeleville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 pm and then on Thursday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
