STEELEVILLE – Viola Guebert, 92, of Dix, Illinois, formerly of Steeleville, passed away at 9:17 am, Sunday, September 22, 2019.

Viola was born in Chester, on February 23, 1927, the daughter of Arnold and Marie Redecker Rubach.  She married Albert H. Guebert on March 10, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bremen.  Viola was a Homemaker and worked at the Shoe Factory in Steeleville and Chester and the Dress Factory in Sparta and New Athens.  She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Baldwin, Illinois.

Viola is survived by her husband, Albert H. Guebert of Dix; daughters, Patricia Quinlan of Okawville, IL and Violet (David) Taul of Dix, IL; three grandchildren, Eric Kruse, Melanie Schweer, and Terri Moore; great grandson, James Daniel ; and brother, Delbert Rubach of Chester.

Viola was preceded in death by her Parents and daughter, Sharon Schweer.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, October 3, 2019, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating, burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Baldwin.
