CAMPBELL HILL – Timothy Gene "Freddy" Lindner, 56, of Campbell Hill, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home.
Tim was born on July 18, 1962, in Pinckneyville, the son of Kenneth Glen and Shirley Carter Lindner. He married Cathy Tuthill, his best friend and love of his life on November 21, 1992. They spent 27 beautiful years and went on many adventures together. He was a loving husband, dad, papa, neighbor, friend and a man of great faith. He knew he was going to Heaven when he died and was ready. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping, talking, playing baseball and softball, and was a lifelong Cubs fan.
Tim was a member of Denmark Baptist Church. He was a life member of Alma Lodge #497 A.F. & A.M. in Steeleville where he was Past Master and currently served as Secretary, Ainad Shrine where he was a Road Runner and current Jackson County Shrine Club President. He was a member of Steeleville Order of the Eastern Star #738, where he currently served as Treasurer. He was a Coal Miner, worked at Chester Mental Health Center and Perry County Sheriff's Department, where he was a deputy and Jail Administrator. While employed at the Sheriff's Department, he worked for the United States Marshall Service. Tim was one of the first three District Security Officers Southern Illinois ever appointed by the Marshall Service.
Tim had a uniquely loving, funny, entertaining personality and a huge heart. The world is a lonelier place without him.
Tim is survived by his wife, Cathy, sons, Michael and Kyle, his best buddy, his grandson, Titus, his mother, Shirley Lindner, brother, Jim, sister, Tracy, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighborhood family, Masonic brothers and sisters and friends.
Tim was preceded in death by his Father, grandparents, two uncles and two aunts.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with David Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Steeleville City Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call on Wednesday from 5 pm until 8 pm, with an Eastern Star service at 7 pm, Shrine service at 7:15 pm, and Masonic Service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 7:30 am until 10 am. Memorials may be given to Shriner's Hospital in St. Louis.
