STEELEVILLE – Thomas E. Loos, 67, of Steeleville, passed away at 8:00 am, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Illinois.
Thomas was born in DuQuoin, Illinois, on May 9, 1953, the son of John H., Jr. and Adriana Bathon Loos. He married Darla K. Stork on September 2, 1972 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Sparta, Illinois. He retired from Horse Creek Coal Mines, Captain and Streamline. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Willisville; U.M.W. of A Local #1392; Operators Engineers Local #520; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2921, Pinckneyville.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Darla Loos of Steeleville; children, Tomica (Paul) Mishorich of O'Fallon, IL, Tori (Jimmy) Beaty of Nashville, IL, Trisha (Nick) Bicket of Chester, and Tomi Loos of St. Louis, MO; 9 grandchildren; 1 step granddaughter; 3 step great grandchildren; five brothers, Charley Loos of Jourdanton, TX, Gene Loos of Pinckneyville, Joseph Loos of Pinckneyville, Dennis Loos of Clewiston, FL, and Kenneth Loos of Percy; and six sisters, Rosemary Bochantin of Nashville, IL, Shirley Geppert of Mount Vernon, IL, Dorothy Wildermuth of Pinckneyville, Kate Michaels of Henderson, NV, Susan Jones of Aledo, TX, and Joan Williams of San Antonio, TX.
Thomas was preceded in death by his Parents; and one brother, Robert.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private family mass will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Willisville, with Father Leo J. Hayes officiating. A walk through will be held at the church on Wednesday from Noon to 2:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Willisville. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Memorials may be given to the MS Society or Masses.
