April 10, 1953 – January 11, 2024
CAMPBELL HILL – Terie Sue "T-Brew" Brewer, 70, of Campbell Hill, took her last breath Thursday January 11, 2024, as the result of a car accident.
Terie was born April 10, 1953, in Murphysboro, IL to Floyd Dean and Elnora Mae Cox. After graduating high school at Elverado HS in 1971, she began her journey to becoming a nurse by first attending John A Logan College for her general studies and then graduating from Kaskaskia College in 1976 with her Registered Nurse degree. Terie worked as a full time RN for 43 years prior to her retirement from Chester Mental Health in 2019. Over the years she worked in several different positions from hospitals, coal mines and as a work comp nurse to various specialty fields such as traumatic brain injury, wound care, and ending with mental health. Among her favorite positions were home health, wound care, and travel nursing.
Terie married James Hauptmann April 1, 1978, in Vergennes, IL. Together they had two children, Carl and Nicole. James proceeded her in death on June 25, 1991. Terie's second marriage was to Jimmy Brewer, which gave her a stepdaughter she took in as her own, Jeni, and together they had one daughter, Kasie. Terie was known by all who loved her for her amazing heart, her willingness to help anyone, anytime, her cooking, crafting and of course her famous sweet tea. Terie enjoyed reading, sewing, cross stitching, watching Hallmark, old Elvis movies, and any sort of craft project. She could often be found immersed in making something beautiful for someone. Out of all the things she loved to do, spending time with her grandkids was her favorite. They were the absolute light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
