CHESTER – Tammy F. Light, 55, of Chester, passed away 1:18 am, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh, Illinois.

Tammy was born in Red Bud, Illinois, on August 17, 1970, the daughter of Norman, Sr. and Virginia Dickerson Light. She worked in housekeeping at Memorial Hospital, Chester. Tammy loved to read and loved Photography.

Tammy is survived by her children, James Edward Kempfer, Jr. of Chester and Janielle F. Kempfer of Chester; son-in-law, Daniel Cathcart, Jr. of Tilden, IL; grandchildren, Rystain Kempfer, Kinleigh Kempfer and Aniyah Kempfer; Parents, Norman and Virginia Light, Sr. of Chester; brother, Norman Light, Jr. of Chester; and sister, Barbara Dickerson of Chester.

Tammy was preceded in death by an infant son, Edward James Kempfer; adopted sister, Betty Dickerson; and infant sister, Bernice Light.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. JoAnn Arbuckle officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from Noon until 2 pm Tuesday.
