Sylvia Gruber ROCKWOOD, Sylvia Gruber, 89, of Rockwood, passed away at 2:58 A.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, IL. She was born December 10, 1918 in Willisville, Illinois the daughter of Henry Misselhorn and Frieda (Alms) Misselhorn. She married Frank W. Gruber on June 17, 1939 in Perryville, Missouri. He passed away on January 1, 2003. Sylvia was a homemaker in her own home and of the Lutheran faith. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Elks Lodge in Florida. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Daniel and Rosemary Gruber of Belleville, IL, One daughter-in-law Dorcas Gruber of Rockwood, IL, six grandchildren, Pamela and Larry Hanna of Rockwood, IL, Tracy and Richard Harrington of Chester, IL, Kathy and Lloyd Baker of Niles, MI, Karen and Michael Schwoebel of Belleville, IL, Nancy and Shawn Beaty of Bloomington, IL, Lynn and Michael Stover of Wichita, KS, fifteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two sisters: Verna Glass of Sparta, IL, Margaret Midget of Quincy, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Jerry Gruber, one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville. Rev. Raymond Barclay will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Wednesday from 6-8 pm and on Thursday from 7:30 until the hour of service Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children.
