STEELEVILLE - Suzanne (Suzy) Ivanuck Carter, 66, passed away February 27, 2018 at home in Steeleville, Illinois. She was born June 14, 1951 to Dr. Marion (Doc) Ivanuck and Dorothy Rabe Ivanuck. Suzy graduated from Steeleville High School and went on to earn a degree in nursing in St. Louis and continued to live and work there for several years. She moved to Tucker, Georgia in 1985 where she had an interesting career as a medic and driver for many major movie companies. Friends and relatives enjoyed hearing about the movie stars she worked with and got to know. In 2004 she returned to Steeleville to be a devoted caregiver to her parents until their deaths in 2004 and 2005. She remained in Steeleville the rest of her life. Suzy is remembered as vivacious and fun, an excellent student, and talented musician on both piano and organ. Suzy was predeceased by her parents, her sister Leslie Ivanuck, and her husband Jeff Carter. She is survived by her long time companion and significant other, Ray Nevin of Tucker, Georgia, and many cousins and friends who will miss her. A graveside service will be held at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, Illinois Friday September 28 at 10:30 AM, with Rev. William F. Engfehr, III officiating, followed by lunch at Reid's Harvest House in Chester.
