STEELEVILLE – Steven R. Thompson, 68, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

Steven was born on November 18, 1955, in Red Bud, IL, the son of Riley B. and Evelyn (Rubach) Thompson. He married Janice K. Brenning on October 1, 1988, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Steven was retired. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, former member of the Jaycees, Steeleville, IL, and a former Boy Scout Leader. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

Steven is survived by his wife, Janice Thompson of Steeleville, IL, his son, Ethan Thompson of Steeleville, IL, his sister, Suzan (Tom) VanOver of Sparta, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 10:00 am until time of service.
