STEELEVILLE – Steven J. Mulholland, 68, of Steeleville passed away at 2:45 PM, Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at his home in Steeleville.
Steven was born on June 18, 1950, in Red Bud, the son of John H. and Felma (Boyster) Mulholland. He married Linda Trevathan on March 20, 1969, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sparta and they shared 49 years of marriage. Steve was retired from Chester Mental Health. Steve was a U.S. Army Veteran from Vietnam, and a member of the Loyalty Baptist Church, Sparta, and the BBK American Legion Post #480 Steeleville.
He is survived by his wife; Linda Mulholland, of Steeleville, daughter; Stephanie Mulholland, of Steeleville, son; Steven (Krista) Mulholland, of Steeleville, 3 grandchildren; Maegan, Emma, and Jon Mulholland. He is also survived by 5 sisters; Reta Grisset, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Evelyn Mulholland, of Merriville, Indiana, Gayle (John) McCormick, of Sparta, Cathy (Dan) Wolf, of Sparta, Amy (Rob) Asher, of Steeleville, 3 brothers; John (Nancy) Mulholland, of Chester, Bill (Carolyn) Mulholland, of Sparta, Mel (Tina) Mulholland, of Steeleville. 1 brother in law; Mark Trevathan, of Steeleville, 11 Nieces, 11 Nephews, and too many cousins to count.
Mr. Mulholland was preceded in death by his parents; brother in law; Michael Trevathan, 2 nephews; Randy Spreitler, and Rueben Kalua'u.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 4, 2018, at the Loyalty Baptist Church, Sparta, with Rev. Tom Foster, officiating, burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Saturday from 7:30 to 9 AM and from 10 to 11 AM, at the church. Memorials may be made to the Loyalty Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois Blue/West Team.
