STEELEVILLE – Steven K. Mevert, 63, of Fresno, California, formerly of Steeleville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Fresno, CA.

Steven was born in Chester, Illinois on December 14, 1952, the son of Albert F. and Annabelle Bierman Mevert. He was a Registered Nurse in Fresno. Steven was a member of the United Church of Christ in Fresno.

Steven is survived by his companion, Pete Espanoza of Fresno; his parents, Albert and Annabelle Mevert of Steeleville; his brothers, Thomas (Doris) Mevert of Percy and James (Debra) Mevert of Steeleville; and several nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by one brother, David Mevert.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. S. Blake Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call on Sunday, October 30 from 5 pm until 7 pm and on Monday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to Shirner's Hospital for Children or Peace Lutheran Church.
