PERCY – Steven R. "Cootie" McHughes, 64, of Percy, passed away at his home in Percy, on Friday, August 23, 2019.

Steven was born in Anna, Illinois, on July 19, 1955, the son of Kenneth R. and Annette J. Evans McHughes.  He was a Mechanic at Gilster Mary-Lee in Steeleville.  Steven was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Percy.

Steven is survived by his mother, Annette Evans of Anna; siblings, Kenneth McHughes of Marissa; Kim Higgerson of Cutler; Donnita McHughes of Sparta; and Kathy McHughes of Anna.

Steve was preceded in death by his Father.

Steven's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 6 PM, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. James Tinzmann officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 PM Sunday evening. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
