SPARTA – Stella W. McFadden, 95, of Maryville, formerly of Sparta, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Liberty Village, Maryville, IL.

Stella was born January 7, 1926, in Campbell Hill, IL, to Otto and Sophia Joost Wettig. She married Clovis McFadden on June 15, 1946, at Wine Hill, IL. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1999. Stella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sparta. She was retired from Spartan Light Metals after 28 years of service.

Stella is survived by her children; Larry (Suzanne) McFadden of Sparta, Donald (Susan) McFadden of Red Bud, Pam Shumway of Belleville, and daughter-in-law, Judy McFadden of Steeleville; Grandchildren; Christine, Laura, Nikki and Donnie, Great Grandchildren; Darion, Tawny, Sam, Jess, Ellie, Jade, Shai, Austin and Alexandra, Great Great Grandchild, Jayde. Stella is also survived by a sister, Emma Schoenbeck of Ruma.

Stella is also preceded in death by her parents, son, Royce, son-in-law "Skip," three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Reverend Carl Miller officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Friends may call 11 – 2 pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville.
