AVA – Starlitt Rose Rogers, 71, of Ava, IL, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at SIH Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Star was born on August 14, 1954, in DuQuoin, IL to Rudolph and Iva Nell (Brown) Seibert. She married Jeffrey Rogers on May 24, 1997, at Devils Backbone Campground, Grand Tower, IL. Star was a Home Health Aid.

Star loved taking care of her grandchildren and camping. Dry Lake Campground was her home away from home and her happy place.

Star is survived by her husband Jeff Rogers of Ava, IL, her grandchildren: Cheyanne (Robert) Sowder, Wyatt Reiman, Dylan Skidmore; her brother, Sam (Brenda) Jones, her sisters: Sharon Buser, Anna McClanahan, Nellie Travelstead, Robin Hershey, Susie (Danny) Holmes; her sister-in-law, Tina Baird, and several nieces and nephews.

Star was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Roy "Skip" Skidmore, 3 brothers: Jerry Seibert, Byrle Joe Baird, and Roy Baird.

It was Star's wish to be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
