CHESTER – Sonya M. Wingerter, 60, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at her home in Chester, Illinois.

Sonya was born on November 26, 1963, in Colorado, the daughter of James and Carol (Rutledge) Seymour. She was a Paraprofessional for 32 years at Chester Grade School, Chester, IL.

Sonya is survived by her children: Amy (Jeff) Fraembs of Steeleville, IL, Alicia Robinson of Sparta, IL, Courtney Alms of Chester, IL; her grandchildren: Bradyn, Kadynce, Kamdyn, Alayna, Aiden, Casey Beth; her great granddaughter Adeline, her sisters: Susan Berner of Chester, IL, Sharon Oldani of Scott Depot, WV, Sara Savage of DuQuoin, IL, and Sally Goeddel of Waterloo, IL.

Sonya was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Seymour.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Pastor Doug Rice officiating. Burial to follow at Percy Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be Monday, September 30, 2024, Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 10:00 am, until time of service.
