AVA – Skylar LeeAnn Musselman, 30, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at her home in Ava, Illinois.

Skylar was born on January 5, 1993, in Sparta, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Toy Ann (Griffin) McClaine. She married Nathan Musselman on October 6, 2018, in DuQuoin, IL. Skylar was a Bus Aide for Trico School District and attended Denmark Baptist Church, Cutler, IL.

Skylar is survived by her husband, Nathan Musselman of Ava, IL, her sons: Rycer Musselman and River Musselman; her parents, Thomas and Toy Ann McClaine of Ava, IL, brothers: Willie Griffin of Ava, IL,  Travis McClaine of Nashville, IL, sister, Heather McClaine of Nashville, IL, Grandmother, Mary Ann Griffin (Butch Gale) of Murphysboro, IL, mother-in-law, Linda Musselman of Ava, IL, brother-in-law, Lance (Nicole) Musselman of Ava, IL, nieces: Alaina, Lydia, Willow, Haven, Ava, Arianna, Libby, Addison; nephew, Granger, aunts: Michelle Griffin, Kathy Griffin, Carolyn Lubbers, Brenda Farris, Debbie (Tom) Davidson; uncle, Donnie (Barb) McClaine, special friends: Megan Cheatham, Justine Knop, Morgan Vancil; and lots of cousins.

Skylar was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Willie Griffin, paternal grandparents, Bert & Maggie McClaine, father-in-law, Rohn Musselman, uncles: Pee Wee Farris, Mark Lubbers, James McClaine, Ronnie McClaine; aunt, Sue Valleroy, and a cousin, Staci Kay Harsy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Marty DeRoche officiating. Burial to follow at Cottom Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call on Thursday, from 5 – 8 pm, and on Friday, from 7:30 am until hour of service.
