STEELEVILLE – Shirley Mae Reith, 76, was escorted by Jesus to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 28, 2024, from Addington Place memory Care, Sparta, Illinois. She is reunited with her parents and other beloved extended family members.

Shirley was born on September 9, 1947, in Belleville, IL, the daughter of John J. and Mildred Reith. She grew up in Belleville, IL and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Belleville, IL. When Shirley moved to Steeleville, IL, she became a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Percy, IL. Shirley loved the Lord, the USA, her family, her friends and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Shirley is survived by her sister, JoAnn (Bob) Beers of Parish, FL, her brother, John W. (Mary) Reith of Steeleville, her niece, Cindy (Charles) Horton, her nephews: John M. (Jill) Reith, Jim (Amy) Reith, and David (Tina) Beers; her great nieces and nephews, many cousins and Aunt Florence Lenhardt of Waterloo, IL.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Percy, IL and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
