WILLISVILLE – Shirley M. Murphy, 74, of Willisville, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Shirley was born in Galesburg, Illinois on February 3, 1941, the daughter of the late Ausie and Wanita Higgerson Edwards. She married Billy E. Murphy on February 26, 1999 at Paducah, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2001. Shirley attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Willisville and was retired from Gilster Mary Lee Corp.
Shirley is survived by five children, Marty Gendron of Percy, Carrie (Larry) Dillow of Chester, Billy Fallon of Cutler, Johnny Stevens of Nashville, TN and Sam Norsigian of Collinsville, IL; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Delores (Dennis) Jackley of Padock Lake, WI, Becky (Bob) Edwards Dobbert of Sebring, FL and Jeannie (Ed) Koenig of Twin Lakes, WI.
Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Gary Gendron; and one sister, Marilyn Warner.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Randy Wheaton officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, Illinois. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call on Wednesday from 5 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
