Murphysboro – Shirley Ann Hubbs Forbes, 86, of Murphysboro, IL, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL.

Shirley was born August 15, 1935, in Union County, IL, to Frank and Roxie Kimmel Williams.  She married Earl "Jug" Hubbs on February 19, 1955, in Cornith, MS, he passed away on March 29, 1977.  Shirley then married George Forbes on January 7, 1983, in Murphysboro, IL, he passed away on April 20, 1988. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church, Murphysboro, IL, and the Paul Stout American Legion Auxiliary, Post #127, Murphysboro, IL. She loved all of her grandchildren and she was their biggest fan, along with being an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Shirley was a retired Cosmetologist, retired from the Jackson County Circuit Clerk's office and was the church nursery secretary for fifty plus years.

Shirley is survived by her children: Angie (Murray) Stockinger of Groesbeck, TX, Duane (Teresa) Hubbs of Murphysboro, IL, Darrin (Lisa) Hubbs of Murphysboro, IL, Greg (Sheri) Hubbs of Murphysboro, IL, Cheryl (Bill) Hines of Murphysboro, IL; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, 7 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren, sister, Eula Neace of Belvidere, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley is also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Tower Grove Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL, with Pastor Eric Hanson officiating.  Burial to follow. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Murphysboro, and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
