Obituary
SPARTA – Shirley M. Cross, 76, of Sparta passed away at 1:30 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Shirley was born on July 6, 1942, in Sparta, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Dickey) Bleiseh. She married Thomas L. Cross on May 31, 1974, in Marissa, and they shared 44 years of marriage. Mrs. Cross was a homemaker and a retired beautician, and attended the Steeleville Baptist Church.
Shirley is survived by her husband; Thomas L. Cross, of Sparta, children; John T (Tessa) Cross, of San Diego, California, Katie (Jake) Jeffers, of Coulterville, grandchildren; Logan and Carson Cross, and Josie and Kaylee Jeffers. She is also survived by a brother; Roger (Janice) Bleiseh, of Dahlonega, Georgia, sister; Earline Crain, of Sparta.
Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday December 9, 2018, at the Steeleville Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Scott Foshie officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon at the church where friends may call from 2 to 4 PM. Memorials may be made to the Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
