Shirley Ann "Annie" Patterson, 77, of Steeleville passed away at 8:10 PM, Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Percy, Illinois.
Shirley was born on December 31, 1938 in Steeleville the daughter of Walter and Irene (Prange) Robinson. She married Cleo Eugene Patterson on August 15, 1955 in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1999. Annie was a homemaker and enjoyed many activities including, crocheting, gardening, rock collecting, reading, and needlework. She also enjoyed to watch many different animals like birds, squirrels, and bunnies. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and she looked forward every year when they took their family trip to Branson, MO. Annie was a member of the Steeleville Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the St. Genevieve County Music Associates.
Shirley is survived by one son; Robert (Lois "Maggie") Patterson of Chester, one daughter; Toni Lynn (Joe) Rieckenberg of Steeleville. Grandchildren; Robert (Tammi) Patterson, Rachael Rieckenberg (Kevin Baker) of Gainsville, GA, AJ (Josh) Jausel of Wichita, KS, Ryan Rieckenberg (Faith Brown) of Steeleville, and Alex Rieckenberg (Collin Barrett) of Tilden. 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother; Nelson "Jim" (Eloise) Robinson of Steeleville, one sister-in-law; Dot Patterson of Surprise, AZ, three niece; Sherri Robinson (Jesse Fortman) of Percy, Barbie Patterson and Connie Elliot of Surprise, AZ, and one nephew, Gary Patterson of Denver, CO.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents and one brother; Earl Schpbach.
It was Mrs. Patterson's wishes to be cremated and a memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Memorials may be given to St. Louis Children's Hospital or Randolph County D.A.V. Chapter #78.
