STEELEVILLE – It is with great sorrow that the family of Ms. Sheryl Elaine Grady announces her passing on Monday, July 12, 2021, in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL, at the age of 62.

Sheryl was born December 8 ^th , 1958, in Newport, Arkansas, the daughter of Destern Duane and Shirley Ann (McGriff) Grady. Ms. Grady graduated Newport High School, a member of the class of 1977. For nearly 33 years, Sherly dedicated her real estate skills to Associated Management in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Throughout her career with the company, she gained many wonderful and lifelong friends. In later years, Ms. Grady moved to Steeleville, Illinois to be with family.

Sheryl's family was her passion and delight. In her early years, Sheryl enjoyed camping and water skiing on the lake. The Grady and McGriff families often made the trip to visit and spend quality time together. Although Sheryl did not have any siblings herself, her cousins filled that role for her. Sheryl had two goddaughters whom she considered her pride and joy and loved to spoil. As an avid reader, she shared a special bond with her eldest goddaughter, Katie, over J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Sherly was of the Baptist faith and an active member of the Steeleville Baptist church after moving to Steeleville.

Ms. Grady is survived by Aunt Betty McGriff of Ava, IL and special cousins: Joy (Dennis) Kiehna of Steeleville, IL, Steve (Pam) McGriff of Elkville, IL, Richard (Mary) McGriff of Ava, IL, Patrick (Kim)McGriff of Murphysboro, IL, April Grady of Nacogdoches, TX, Brittany (Troy) Myers, Christopher (Rebecca, Oliver, Alexandra, and Elliot) Kiehna of Steeleville, IL, and goddaughters, Katelyn and Hannah Myers of Steeleville, IL.

Ms. Grady is preceded in death by her parents, Destern Duane and Shirley Grady.

A memorial service for family and close friends will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, in Batesville, Arkansas.
