MURPHYSBORO – Sheila L. Baker, 61, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Sheila was born on December 16, 1962, in Murphysboro, IL, the daughter of Ray and Vickie (Smith) McBride. Sheila was a cook for the Jackson County Jail.

Sheila is survived by her significant other, Steven Sathoff of Murphysboro, IL, her children: Kyle Baker of Ava, IL, Karlie (Coltin) Lewis of Columbia, MO; her granddaughter, Lynzie Baker and a new grandson expected in January, her parents, Ray and Vickie McBride of Ava, IL, her sister, Sherry Barnett of Ava, IL, her brother, Michael (Jennifer) McBride of Ava, IL, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sheila was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clifton and June McBride, maternal grandparents, and her brother-in-law, Scott Barnett.

Funeral services will be on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 5:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Rev. Bob Spangler officiating. Interment will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call from 3:00 – 5:00 pm.
