PERCY – Shawn D. Taylor, 51, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at his home in Percy, IL.

Shawn was born on June 10, 1972, the son of James "Jim" and Linda (Bramlett) Thies. He married Bessmah Al-Asad on December 12, 2012, in Chester, Illinois.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Bessmah Taylor of Percy, IL, his son, David Taylor of Chicago, IL, his daughter, Madison Hepp, his siblings: JJ Bramlett, James "Jimmy" Thies, Robert "Boog" Thies, Melinda (Brian) Carter, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by his Parents, and Grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Bramlett.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Steve Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Percy Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
