PERCY – Sharon M. Wittenborn, 79, of Percy, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home in Percy, Illinois.
Sharon was born on May 4, 1947, in Chester, IL, to Herman and Leola (Brelje) Gerlach. She married Phillip D. Wittenborn on June 11, 1977, at First United Methodist Church, Sparta, IL. Sharon was retired from World Color Press in Sparta, IL after 34 years of employment. She was of the Protestant faith. Sharon enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Phillip D. Wittenborn of Percy, IL, her children: Kevin Wittenborn of Evansville, IL, Todd (Kim) Wittenborn of Coulterville, IL, Rhonda (Darren) Ellis of Cape Girardeau, MO, Jeff Gerlach of Percy, IL; her grandchildren: Aaron (Becca) Wittenborn, Douglas (Nicole) Wittenborn, Matthew (Danielle Hanson) Wittenborn, Trevor (Susan) Heisserer, Christin Heisserer, Gavin (Jordan) Ellis, Leigh-Ann (Richard) Firestone, Alexandra (Wes) Ellis, Andrew (Lainey) Ellis; her great grandchildren: Keeton, Caleb, Gavin, Madison (Paul), Macensi (Kenneth) Morgan (Ian), Abbygale, Gabrielle, Lucius, Addie, Isaac, Ellie, Emma, Owen, Bayleigh (Ethan), Landon, Elaina, Everett; her great great grandchildren: Asher, Magnolia; her sister, Janice Hille of Ellis Grove, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, 11:00 am, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Stephen Duncan officiating. Burial to follow at Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, IL. Visitation will be Thursday evening, August 27, 2026, where friends may call from 6 – 8 pm and then on Friday morning 7:30 am until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Shriners Children’s Hospital, and can be mailed to Wilson’s Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
