STEELEVILLE – Sharon Gremmels, 81, of Steeleville, IL, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Addington Place, Sparta, IL.

Sharon was born August 21, 1944, in Murphysboro, IL to Edward H. and Marian (Boehm) Koeneman. She married Paul W. Gremmels in Bremen, IL, on August 29, 1964. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2011. Sharon had retired from St. Mark's Lutheran School, Steeleville, after 30 years of teaching. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville. Sharon loved to sew, to teach others to sew, and spending time with family and grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her children: Shelley (Jon) Dintleman of Columbia, Kathy (Joshua) Mileur of Murphysboro, Scott (Michelle) Gremmels of Steeleville, Aaron (Leslie) Gremmels of Steeleville; her grandchildren: Aidan Dintelman, Reece Mileur, Owen Gremmels, Evan Gremmels, Mikkah Jacobus, Hazel Gremmels, Holden Gremmels; her siblings: Nancy (Dennis) Fuhrhop of Gallatin, TN, Brent Koeneman of Steeleville, and Tim (Katie) Koeneman of Steeleville.

Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, 1:00 pm, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, where friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, and Thursday morning, 7:30 – 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, then Noon until time of service, Thursday, at the church.
