CHESTER, Sharon L Gerberding, 60, of Chester, formerly of Steeleville passed away at 2:40 AM Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Red Bud Nursing Home in Red Bud, Illinois. She was born July 29, 1951 in Murphysboro, Illinois the daughter of Charles Jaimet and Eleanor (Gertsonslager) Jaimet. Sharon married Danny R. Gerberding on Saturday, April 18, 1970 at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL. Sharon was known for her witty sense of humor and one-liners. She enjoyed playing cards, taking trips and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was known as "NaNa" by her grandkids and always made sure she had cookies in the cookie jar when they came for visits. She is survived by her: husband: Danny R. Gerberding, Chester, IL; son: Darin Gerberding, Chester, IL; daughter: Alison and Dale Krack, Red Bud, IL; grandchildren: Isabel, Grant, and Kate Krack of Red Bud, IL; sister: Patty and Bob Shute, Pinckneyville, IL; brother: Steven and Torrie Jaimet, Percy, IL; one brother-in-law: Todd and Tammy Gerberding of Steeleville, IL; nieces and nephews: Kylie and Bobby Smith of Murphysboro, IL, Tiffany Gerberding of Steeleville, IL, Elle Jaimet of Percy, IL, Raymond Jones of Pinckneyville, IL, Torrey Gerberding of Steeleville, IL; mother-in-law: Pauline Gerberding of Steeleville, IL. Sharon is preceded in death by her: parents, one sister, Kathy Jaimet, father-in-law, Omer Gerberding. Sharon was a bookkeeper at Bockhorn Motor Sales for 20 plus years and several other car dealers thereafter. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL. Rev. S. Blake Duncan will be officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. and then from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorial may be made to Siteman Cancer Center or donor's Choice.
